Well it’s been a tad longer than normal since I updated, but I don’t really care!
See, I need to find a way to get some idio- er.. Very smart individual, to pay me money simply to blog, like many(ok probably not many) of those imbecile WoW blog writers. They can pay me to rant about stuff.. yeah! Alternatively, Microsoft can pay me to spew love for the Xbox in the country where it is FAILING. *hint hint nudge nudge*

Right, onto business.
So Thors (seriously if you don’t know who this is by now, I’m not inclined to pummel it into your brain even more, hyperlinking it every single time aggravates me LOOK OVER THERE IN LINKS —-> ) introduced an interesting new foe/ally into our IRC channel. His name is Apachai.
At first he was a quiet and withdrawn individual, occasionly trumpeting out a random phrase such as:

Yet, several days and much absorbing later, he’s grown to become part of the ‘family’. He understands many things, for example:

Yeah.. anyway.
Finished DTB, rewatched Cowboy and the New Fist of the North Star OVA (planning to watch the Gaiden too when I have time) then watched Diebuster and now am watching Great Teacher Onizuka once more.
So Diebuster huh.. it’s like.. what happens if you take TTGL, take out more or less every single character bar Nia and Yoko, transform Nia as to have Simon’s personality, and Yoko to have Kamina’s, and slam them into the universe of FLCL. That’s essentially Diebuster.
Main character is called “Nono” and is voiced by the same person who voices Nia in TTGL, they are fairly similiar in personality and they both have wierd eyes, if that counts. Nono.. however, is depressingly stupid at times, such as taking the term “Topless”, literally.
However! I liked Diebuster, it was short, action packed, had fairly good character growth, awesome animation and good voice actery. The end was..nice, I don’t know how else to phrase it, and a picture says at least 100 words:
Ok in fairness that doesn’t really show it off that well, in motion with the music it’s.. more impressive. Yet you get the picture (pun potentially intended).
Hmm.. as for games, still playing Brawl, I think I’m progressing ever so slowly towards mastering Toon Link, I’m starting to get the SHDA (short hop double arrow) under control, that is to say, the timing of it. I’ve been staring at Mario Kart, but I don’t think I can get it as the update apparently breaks the Wii, although I’ve not really chased that up, it looks.. kind of bland, to be fair. I’ll probably play it for a month and then never touch it for ages. Condemned 2 looks pretty neat, as does Team Fortress 2.. as does Aion, as does Ninja Gaiden II, as does Gears of War 2 as does Fable 2. WHAT IS THIS SOME SEQUEL YEAR? YOU BEST BE KIDDING.
Funnily enough I can play Aion (at least the beta) on my bad PC, feh.. so now the question.

I rarely play games on my PC, yet then again I’m on my PC more than looking at my TV, it’s a wierd paradox. I’m almost leaning towards PC because in fairness there’s nothing terribly wrong with my 15 year old Sony TV. New PC would let me play Aion in shiny graphics, TF2 in shiny graphics, run programs generally better (I’m on 512mb ram and a fairly old processor, the new photoshops and movie editing things run sloooow)
Yet then the problems emerge:
Ok in fairness the last one is a lie, I have a 500GB external HD somewhere and (assuming it works) I can copy all my media onto that… but meh. It’s a tough choice, I still have to download alllll my programs and configure them all and so on.. I have my PC working kinda like.. how I want it atm. Now, two options arise:
1 poses the problem that my PC upgrading is sort of futile, I’d need to like swap my entire motherboard out and it frankly sounds like too much effort.
2 I don’t know if I can even do, plus if I can my HD is probably some shitty old model that is pooper.
What do you think? What should Planto-kun do?!
Now, I’m not the type to upgrade ALL the time.. I had my £50 17″ CRT from when I got my computer (some time in 2004 I think) until Novembre last year.. as for my actual PC, it was a £600 model which, read above, was got in like 2004. When I upgrade, I want to upgrade to something that will last me ages! Fah!

I have, on that note, started doing moar exercisan, in addition to martial arts, and have ‘sort of’ improved my diet, by absorbing as much protein into my body as possible. Also, eggs. ASSTONS OF EGGS. SCRAMBLE THEM, FRY THEM, STICK ‘EM ON TOAST. I love eggs.

Alright, Naruto has recently moved into ~HD widescreen~ “zomg wow!” Only no, why would you bother polishing shit? Seriously? Naruto is so full of QUALITY moments and so lacking in anything awesome.. animation is terrible, plot is terrible, just about everything in it, is terrible. Even the god damn music, seriously, the fuck? Naruto had awesome music at the start of the series, sure, didn’t match a “ninja” theme, but it matched NARUTO’s theme. Since when did covert ops super mega ninjas wear fucking orange jumpsuits anyway. Now it’s all SERIOUS BUSINESS ORIENTAL TOOTING CHIMES OF CRAPPERY. Geh. I’ve given up watching it entirely now, as opposed to the last 10 weeks or so where I’ve been cautiously streaming it, to see if it improved.. yeah.. fat chance. On a side note, why the hell are Dattebayo (morons who wish they were /b/tards) downscaling HD Naruto to some shitty resolution? I mean.. doesn’t that render the whole point of it being HD irrelevant? I’ve grasped the power of segways now, so behold: Alright, perhaps they downscale it to keep their file size down, HA-HA-HA-HA. If they cared about that they’d stop using shitty .avi. Besides, Shinsen’s 720p releases of DTB are about 4mb bigger than DB’s current “HD” Naruto releases. To compare:
Darker than Black episode one. 1280×720 .mkv 174mb
Naruto episode whatever-the-fuck. 856×480 170mb
Notice I don’t put the file extension on the DB one, that’s because I don’t fucking know what shitty thing they use, regardless, it’s no doubt shit.
So yeah, what is the point in downscaling something by almost half for the sake of 4mbs? Imbeciles.
So.. I finished Darker Than Black, if I didn’t mention so earlier, that was good.. I reccomend. (Like the segway? It’s good, rite)
Whum.. finished rewatching Cowboy Bebop, am almost done rewatching FMA, once I’ve finished that, and the FMA movie (which I manged to find in HD! -yay anime2leech-) I shall rewatch TTGL.. and then.. hrmm.. I’ll probably find something new.
I picked up Tower of Druaga (I didn’t really pick it up as it’s being played on youtube -legally, with subs and everything- every new release week) and that was alright. I like traditional fantasy games, and mixing it with an anime isn’t a bad idea. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is always refreshing.
Bleach 166. Wow. Holy shit that was an awesome episode, and I’m not just comparing it to the normal Bleach eps, that was honestly one of the most awesome fights, animated or otherwise, that I’ve seen in a while. SEE?! YOU CAN MAKE BLEACH AWESOME IF YOU TRYYYYYY. Gah, sadly I don’t expect they’ll keep up that quality. Oh well.
Dum dum dum.. mango next. Naruto = lol plot twist that people predicted 3 freaking years ago, if not since the START OF THE MANGA IN 1999. Seriously, why is Naruto so easy to predict?

Rrr… Bleach manga is still interesting, not really much to say. Beserk is fucking awesome, I picked that up a few days ago, even if it is damn hard to find a good place to read it online, I’m only on the third chapter but wow, I think Gutts is a pretty cool guy eh chops little girls in half and doesn’t afraid of skeletons.
Woops I just broke Firefox playing a 14kb script version of Mario World 1-1.. oh well. uhh.. this autosaved at least so that’s good.. where next..!
Oh right, on the matter of games, I’ve started a new RPG maker game, using VX, I’ve dabbled my hand in scripts (although not really creating anything myself, just poking and hurling spears at others peoples things to make them suit my needs) I may as well post some screenshots of what it looks like so far! Behold.
Yeah on second thoughts you only get the one.. which basically just shows you my awesome custom window frames and what the sprites/faces/tiles look like. *ahem* My battle system just broke on me and when I opened it, there were like 1000 sprites whirling around the screen damaging my eyes.. I’ll.. fix that later.
So, onto Brawl. I’m maining Toon Link for sure (so far) and I’m liking him alot, he’s like a mixture of Young Link, Marth and Captain Falcon, my three favourite characters! Plus to top it off he has awesome taunts, a hilarious voice, (I think) he looks cool, and has a purple costume. Best character ever.
As for how good he is.. if I had to put it simply (this is by no means an official tier list, just my quick guess for the sakes of this)
Top Tier: Marth, Wolf, Olimar.
High Tier: Lucario, King Dedede, Kirby, Ice Climbers, Toon Link
Mid Tier: Everyone else.
Again, that’s just my quick personal opinion, although the gap between Top and High is -immense- yet then again, the characters are alot more balanced than they were in Melee, as proved that I can beat a good Marth player using Toon Link, whereas in Melee it’d be literally impossible for me to beat a good Fox using anyone other than Marth/Falco/Shiek.
Anyway, I like Toon Link. My personal goal in Brawl? This is sort of hard to explain. You know how in your group of friends that you play a game with, there’s one who’s a cut above the rest, through whatever means, they are the best, and the others in the group strive to be as good as that person, which in turn leads said person to push themself further, thus making everyone grow and evolve (just like in Pokemon!)
My goal is to become that person, the one who everyone else needs to try and catch up and overtake. Why? Because I’m stubborn and smash my head against something over and over until I become good enough at it. Granted right now I am the most experienced in Smash Bros by far out of my group of friends who have it/plan to get it. Yet I only really play with 2 people atm, one I’m just slightly ahead of, the other… is Frahlo. So essentially I need to stay as the best, in order to force the people I play with to become as good/better than me. WHAT ABOUT PLAYING FOR FUN, I hear you toot. Well, I play for fun just as much as anyone, but I also take it seriously when I want to win, I like winning, not to gloat at the other person, or to think “I’m better than they are”, but more for a personal goal. I like knowing when I put effort into something, I’m rewarded. Not like say.. WoW. Where I’d pour hours of time into thinking of how to perfect my playstyle and work well with my team, then in an arena match we’d get destroyed by others, over and over. Bugged me. Insanely.
So yeah, as I’m one of the few who isn’t discouraged by losing at all (unless it’s WoW) I feel the need to take the initiative. Frahlo and Adam get bored and wander off when they lose, so I’m gonna think of sneaky ways to keep them interested and not flee after they lose. I shall FORCE THEM TO BECOME GOOD. Then eventually I’ll have a group similiar to the Fantastic 4. Only.. it’ll be.. more like.. 5.. maybe 6.. so.. “THE GREAT GROUP” is what we’ll be called.
In terms of actual competitive play, there’s not much I can do yet as Brawl isn’t -out- in the EU, but as soon as it is, and the MLG ladders open up, I plan to make a 2v2 team and a singles.. not really.. team. The team’ll be with Timothy. Right now it’s looking like:
Marth/T.Link. Of course, if items are allowed on in team matches.. I’ll have to rethink, as Final Smashes play a huge part, and even though Marth and T.Link have great F.smashes that more or less OHKO, it can be tricky to first of all, obtain them, and then put them to use, due to posistioning. Now, say items ARE allowed.. that instantly makes people with sure fire KO final smashes that are easy to get, alot more viable.. such as Wolf, Lucas/Ness and so forth. Why? They have quick/strong aerials that can break the smash ball open quickly, and their final smash is nigh impossible to avoid in a 2v2 situation. Wolf’s final smash can KO everybody on the map, even himself, if he’s a moron.
So yeah, items on.. I’d probably take Zelda or Wolf, off.. T.Link, granted I may use T.Link with them on anyway, who knows. As for my partner, I can’t think of anyone better than somebody who’s a good Marth player, and I’ve been playing games with (and against) for like 7 years.
Hmm.. I think that’s more or less everything.. qqqqqq…. hhhhh. Oh right, new GC controllers coming out in Japan, hopefully everywhere else (though I can import from Japan as controllers aren’t region locked) If I realise I’ve missed anything, I’ll update it later.
